“God is Love” – A lot of people say it. But what does it really mean by this famous line? Read on and see how the Bible talks about love and God. The Bible does not only tell us to utter prayer of praise to God as well as praise and worship prayers. It also informs us that God Himself is the ultimate symbol of what love truly is. According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
This particular bible verse reminds us what love truly is and how it should be. A lot of people would say that they know what love is. For them, love is about appreciating the existence of a person and accepting their flaws. However, there is a deeper perspective about love. And only God can truly give us the love we deserve. His love is everlasting, selfless and hopeful. Despite of us being sinners, He loves us unconditionally. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8.
Needless to say, the Lord deserves our praise and worship prayers. It is right to utter a prayer of praise to God. It is our own way of thanking Him for His great love and mercy.
God Means Love
God does not force Himself on any of us. Just like true love, it does not force somebody to repay the feelings. Just like God, love displays kindness to everyone. God does not brag and demand attention. True love liberates and allows a person to grow as an individual. These are just a few of the things that are similar between love and God. The Lord God loves the world and it was even mentioned in the bible, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
As you utter utter prayer of praise to God as well as praise and worship prayers, remember that love is considered as an attribute of God. It is in fact the primary aspect of the character of the Lord. The attributes of God are in perfect harmony. Regardless of who you are, God only does one thing and that is to love us unconditionally. On the other hand, you also need to remind yourself that love is the motivating force behind our salvation.
