1 John 4:16 states that, “God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” When you speak of love, this word is synonymous to God. He is the ultimate symbol of love. With all the sacrifices and unerring love He has done and has been doing, He deserves our praise and worship prayers.
If you talk about love, it is not just about the love you have toward your someone special. Love is such a simple word, yet it has a very deep meaning and various perspectives depending on the context. For instance, if you are talking about love in a romantic relationship, the kind of love felt by a couple is different from the love felt by a mother to her daughter or son. However, when you speak of love, all types of relationships have one thing in common. Every love felt by a person has to do with respecting and loving the other person. It is about thinking of the other person’s happiness first before yours.
Love in a romantic relationship must see the importance of making God as the center of the relationship. When God is part of a couple’s relationship, the couple is happier and stronger. Just in case problems come along the way, the couple is able to withstand and conquer them because they know God is helping them in every step of the way.
The Bible Emphasizes The Importance Of Loving One Another
If you want to make God as the center of your relationship, never hesitate to ask for His guidance and blessing. Talk to him by saying a prayer for relationship. On the other hand, love should also be applied in every given situation. When love rules, people can prevent the tendency to sin and make mistakes. According to Romans 13:8-10, “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up.
On the other hand, the Bible also emphasized the importance of loving one another. “ Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” 1 John 4:7-12. This means that loving the people around you, regardless of who they are, is one way of showing your love to the Lord. To have a happy and blessed relationship with your parents, siblings, colleagues, girlfriend/boyfriend and the people around you, utter a prayer for relationship. Make it a daily habit.
