Does prayer really works? You might ask, “If God cared about us and knows what we need before we ask, why need prayer?
Prayer is the key to the heart of the God. The main thing prayer to God does is make you feel confident about yourself. In Bible (1 Thess. 5:17) Paul says “Pray without ceasing” and even The Bible taught us to pray to God, that’s reason enough. Let’s explore some other reason for why should we do prayer.
Jesus Christ told us to pray.
When Jesus Christ was on the earth He set a great example for us by praying. He prayed for his admirer and disciples, He pray for guidance, He prayed when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane and when He was hang on the Cross. He says that “men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1). We must pray because Jesus told us to do so and emphasize it in His teaching. There is no better reason than this to pray.
We should pray to know our own hearts more fully.
(Habakkuk 2:20) “The Lord in in holy temple, let all the earth keep silent before him” It is true that in prayer we get to know Him more, but we also know about our own hearts, ourselves and our purposes of life more fully. The prayer lays open our hearts not only in front of God but in front of ourselves.
When we are praying to God, He shares his power and strength with us. When God calls us to pray He allows us to be with him as a co-workers and that prayer definitely makes a difference.
When we pray, we are getting even more intimate in relationship with Him.
